Personal Injury Psychological Evaluations in Colorado

Psych Assessments provides psychological evaluations and reports for personal injury clients in Colorado by telehealth. Elazar Tehrani, Psy.D., is licensed in Colorado, as well as California (license PSY28780) and Texas. Our services are limited to evaluation and reporting, with no ongoing treatment.

Colorado Licensure and Telehealth

Dr. Tehrani holds a Colorado psychology license. Evaluations for clients located in Colorado are conducted by secure video telehealth, so your client can participate from home or your office, whether in the Denver metro area, the Front Range, the mountains or a rural community. We confirm the client's location, identity and a private setting before each session.

Evaluations on a Lien Basis

Our personal injury evaluations are billed on a lien basis. Payment is deferred and arranged through the attorney's case rather than collected from the client at the visit. We confirm terms with the referring office before scheduling. The payment arrangement does not influence clinical findings.

When Attorneys Refer Clients in Colorado

Colorado attorneys and case managers may request a psychological evaluation when a client reports emotional or psychological effects after an incident, such as:

  • Motor vehicle, motorcycle and bicycle collisions
  • Ski, recreation and outdoor-activity injuries
  • Dog bites
  • Premises liability
  • Product liability
  • Medical malpractice
  • Other incidents involving injury or trauma

What the Evaluation Includes

  • Clinical interview covering personal, medical and psychological history
  • Discussion of the incident and current symptoms
  • Review of available records
  • Standardized psychological measures where appropriate
  • Consideration of symptoms such as post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, panic and phobias
  • Attention to pre-existing conditions and other stressors
  • A written report that addresses the questions your office identifies

Colorado law includes specific rules about privilege and when a party's mental condition is placed at issue. These are legal questions for counsel. Our role is to provide a clinical evaluation and report for the referral question you identify, and we encourage attorneys to consider these issues when deciding how to use an evaluation.

Pre-Implant Psychological Evaluations

We also provide pre-implant psychological evaluations for spinal cord stimulators and other medical devices, including for Colorado clients, by telehealth and on a lien basis for personal injury matters.

Free Pre-Screening

Each client is offered a free pre-screening before scheduling. This helps determine whether a formal evaluation is appropriate and lets us answer your questions first.

Minors and Spanish-Speaking Clients

Minors are welcome, with a parent or guardian involved as appropriate. We also evaluate Spanish-speaking clients. Se habla español.
